DES MOINES, IOWA (December 29, 2009) Rock Communications, Ltd. /Colorfx, LLC is pleased to announce it has been ranked 69 in the 2009 Printing Impressions 400 list. This ranking confirms the company's standing as Iowa's largest privately-owned printing and direct mail company.
Now in its 26th year, the Printing Impressions 400 provides the industry's most comprehensive revenue rankings of the leading printers in the United States and Canada. The Printing Impressions 400 appeared in the December 2009 issue of Printing Impressions magazine, a trade publication for commercial printers.
"To represent Des Moines, Newton, and Waverly, Iowa in the top 100 of this prestigious list speaks to the effort our 430 employees put in every day," said Jon Troen, president and CEO of Rock Communications/Colorfx. "We continue to make major investments in new printing and mailing technology as well as personnel in order to provide our clients with the highest quality products."
Despite the bleak national economy, which has heavily impacted the print and mail industry, Rock Communications/Colorfx continues to invest in major infrastructure, bringing even more jobs to central Iowa. The company is currently installing a M600 six color, heat-set, full web press, at its Newton facility, which Troen described as a workhorse capable of churning out 50,000 pieces per hour. The press addition is significant as only a few companies across the country have added additional press capacity over the past year.
