Many printing and publishing companies have been threatened in the last few years by the rise of digital communications, but Colorfx & Rock Communications Ltd. has survived by offering more than just printing services.
Colorfx, Iowa's largest privately owned printer with two facilities and about 400 employees, combines printing communications and information technology services into one package for its clients.
Nathan Kring, executive vice president of Colorfx, said the company is "well suited" for projects that encompass several areas of its business and is able to keep customers by offering services like printing, binding and mailing all under one roof....
Eco-friendly printing is new agency’s objective

Iowa's largest privately owned printing company has formed a nonprofit agency intended to help its industry focus better on a single color - green. Carbon Neutral Print Productions, or CNPP, was formed this month out of an office park in West Des Moines with a goal of pointing commercial printing companies toward "a more eco-friendly approach to creating print media."
